FAMILY TRADITION

Our Bartolić family story begins in the 1950s, when our grandfather, purely as a hobby, started truffle hunting in the Istrian forests. At that time, truffles were not as valued as they are today, and their worth was nowhere near what it is now. Over time, the tradition of finding truffles became an important part of our family heritage, passed down from generation to generation. Our father continued this tradition, and the son brought the family business into a new era, adhering to traditional methods with a special emphasis on preserving authenticity.

Situated on a hill above the Mirna River valley, Motovun is a historic town with a rich tradition and natural beauty. In addition to hosting some of the most famous Istrian festivals, Motovun is also one of the world’s most renowned habitats for the white truffle (Tuber magnatum Pico). The Motovun forest, known for its biodiversity, hides many precious truffles, which are the pride of our region. The quality and richness of our truffles largely shape our offerings and are the foundation of all our products.
